2010 Investing in Our Diversity Scholarship Program

The Investing in Our Diversity Scholarship Program recognizes the commitment of young people involved in anti-racism, diversity initiatives and building healthy communities. 

WHAT DOES THIS PROGRAM OFFER?
Scholarship recipients receive:

  • $4,000 scholarships to cover costs of tuition fees, books, tools, etc for your first year of post secondary education or training (college, university, trade school)
  • Second year scholarships of up to $4,000 if you attend Ryerson University, University of Toronto, York University, Centennial College or the Ontario College for Art and Design

Everyone who applies for a scholarship can receive:

  • Assistance in looking for and getting a job - workshops to assist you with resume writing, job searching, and job matching to connect you with employers offering jobs in your area of interest. These services are offered by St. Stephen’s Community House’s Employment Centre.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
You are eligible to apply for a scholarship if you are a graduating Ontario secondary school student involved in anti-racism, diversity and/or leadership on building a healthy community, and you are:

A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, convention refugee or refugee claimant

25 years old or younger in May 2010
-
Entering into your first year of post-secondary education or training.

Living in a Toronto Community Housing community OR the SCCC Anti-Racism Scholarship catchment area (Lake Ontario to the south, Bloor Street to the north, Yonge Street to the east and Lansdowne Ave to the west).

Planning to attend a recognized Canadian post secondary educational or training program (college, university, career academy, apprenticeship…) in the upcoming academic year.

Able to demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
