About RAISING THE ROOF FOR CHILE
This fundraising effort will directly help the people of Chile who lost their homes in the recent earthquake. Now is the time to look to the future, and help victims rebuild their lives and homes.
Funds raised will go to the non-profit foundation Un Techo Para Chile [A Roof for Chile] to build emergency housing and support people in (re)building permanent and sustainable communities through social empowerment.

DJ Carlitos
DJ Carlitos has been a resident DJ at numerous progressive events, particularly those organized by the Latin American Community throughout theyears. Born in Chile, Carlitos plays a wide range of Latin American music including salsa, cumbia, trova and cueca.
Grupo Chile
Grupo Chile was founded in Toronto, Canada, on June 1993, bearing as its main objective the expression of Chilean culture to the Canadian community, through the universal language of dance and music. The Group, consisting of 20 dancers, has gradually developed into a dynamic folklore organization that is known for its discipline, authenticity, expressiveness, and a high level of performance skills.
Grupo Chile includes in its extensive repertoire a wide range of music and dances representing the most important folkloric regions of Chile; the North with strong influence of Aymara culture; the South with traditions of Chiloe Island; and the mystery of the Polynesian Easter Island; as well the groupperforms dances of the Central Region of Chile, highlighted by Chile's national dance "La Cueca".

Tyrone Gabriel joined The Nylons in April 2005. Recognized for his smooth vocals, Tyrone's charm and "joie de vie" are attributes that Tyrone brings to every performance. Tyrone is a versatile and dynamic vocalist, musician and lyricist. Born and raised in Toronto, Tyrone's background is a beautiful medley of Nova Scotian pride and Trinidadian flair. Tyrone studied music at the University of Toronto and Humber College and started his musical career early. Before he was even a teenager, he had opened for Barry White at Massey Hall in Toronto. Tyrone has performed for audiences across North America and Europe in numerous musical productions including Once On This Island and Smokey Joe’s Cafe. He captivates his audiences with his soulful renditions of the great songs of the past and present. In his spare time, Tyrone performs Jazz and R&B with his own band.
DJ Pinax
Born in Chile, DJ Pinax is the resident DJ of Mana Bar's Rioplatense Night. Dropping the best of Cumbia, top 40 hits, Spanish Rock, Bachata & house.
Proyecto Altiplano
Forming a versatile six member group, Proyecto Altiplano plays traditional Andean music with a more upbeat, contemporary sound. Its members are among the top Latin musicians in Toronto, displaying a virtuosity in over 30 string, wind and percussion instruments. They have dedicated themselves to preserving and contributing to the Andean culture by bringing their music to audiences across Canada.
Lady Son and Articulo 20
Lady Son brings classic Afro-Latin roots into a new century, combining different musical genres and sounds while maintaining the essence, history and roots of the NuYorican style Salsa and Guajiro culture Son Montuno from Cuba. Every song has an important message about life, love, and the social issues that affect us all. Lady Son honours the great Salseros and Soneros of the 20th century by remembering them and continuing to add to this diverse and pulsating genre of Latin music. Considered one of the top voices in the Canadian Music Scene today, Yeti Ajasin (A.K.A. Lady Son) has been making waves and carving a name for herself and her band in Toronto and beyond for the past three years. Rich, powerful vocals combined with the knowledge, understanding and passion Yeti has for what she does, make her performance second to none. She is also the conga player for the band, adding intricate rhythms while singing the lead vocals, making her a hugehit to her audiences. Yeti is able to capture the magic that music is made of, and transfer her energy and presence to every single person she comes across. Yeti always had rhythm and dance in her heart.
From Russia, to Japan, to Israel, Nigeria, Mexico, El Salvador, and even Etobicoke Toronto - A20 has been around the world and back! The musicians represent the melting pot of this wonderful city and the fact that we as Canadians can also live within the wonderful sounds of music from other cultures. When you see A20 you will see the same musicians every time... The band is solid in sound, and has a wonderful working relationship which is evident when seeing them on stage. A20 is warm and approachable as is their music.

Take a Colombian conga player, a groove drummer, a killin' funk bassist, an award-winning latin-jazz trumpet player, a deeply rhyhmic jazz pianist and a DMC turntable champion... have them play jazz standards and originals over Colombian rhythms...
then mix in urban hip-hop grooves and slammin' soloists...What have you? CHIVA!
