Hello from Scadding Court! Fall is in full swing, and so are our Fall programs. We have some exciting events, new programs and workshops coming up this month that we want to share with you, and are hoping that you will pass on people you think might be interested. Raising Awareness about the Ontario Police Complaints System

Learn your rights and how the Ontario Police Complaints System works through workshops leading up to our Forum in November! 2 of 4 workshops have been schedule so far on October 15, 7pm at SCCC and November 12, 4pm at Covenant House.

Workshops are FREE but registration is required. TTC tokens are available and free childcare can be provided is specified at registration.

We are also looking for lived experiences of Ontario residents who have used or chose not to use the police complaints system. Friends of Alexandra Park First Meeting

When: Monday October 22nd, 7 pm @ SCCC                
SCCC is supporting a fantastic new community initiative get on their feet: the Friends of Alexandra Park. This is a newly formed volunteer group that works together to promote and enhance the natural, physical and cultural aspects of Alexandra Park. Join them for their inaugural meeting with Councillor Adam Vaughan to start prioritizing what you want to see in Alexandra Park and how to we can collectively achieve this goal.

New Horizons Seniors Program

Launched this fall is SCCC’s New Horizons Seniors Program. Now every Friday 9:30am – 3:30pm we host activities for seniors including social club, singing and dancing, tai chi, English language courses, Line Dance Fitness and cooking classes. The active, fun-loving group, made up of primarily Chinese seniors, has been extremely successful with their performances, and were featured at Theatre Passe Muraille’s Queen West Street Fest!
