Harvest Festival

Live Local Harvest Festival
On October 1, 2011 Scadding Court Community Centre’s Live Local Market hosted a Harvest Festival to celebrate food grown and produced in and around Toronto. This day-long event featured local food and fun activities for people of all ages. It’s a way to celebrate the harvest and to get people thinking about World Food Day – a day that highlights the issues behind poverty and hunger across the globe.
To all our community partners, dedicated volunteers and people who came out to participate in SCCC’s Harvest Festival, we THANK YOU!
The day was a great success with many activities on offer including educational workshops, a cider pressing, pie contest, corn giveaway, dumpling demonstration and a fun-filled children’s area that was bustling the entire time!
Thank you all for working with us to highlight the importance of food access and food security, community engagement and local entrepreneurship- this is just the beginning of the many initiatives we are beginning to plan for the future, and we hope we can continue to work with you.
