Newcomers Services Program
Settlement Services for Newcomers to Canada : Immigration and Settlement Adaptation Program (ISAP).
This program assists newcomers and provides support during their initial settlement in Canada. All services are free of charge.Settlement workers assist with:
- Information and orientation
- Translation and interpretation
- Referral to community resources
- Filling out forms including applications for OHIP, Permanent Resident card renewal and Canadian citizenship
- Supportive counselling
- Contacting government and other community agencies
- Employment related services.
We host monthly workshops on topics such as Old Age Security, Health Care, Community Resources, Tenant Protection Act, Canada Child Tax Benefit, Job search workshops and etc.

Free Tax Clinic
Income Tax Preparation for Low-Income Newcomer Families
February – April
We offer FREE income tax preparation to low income newcomers.
Eligibility Requirements: Landed immigrants and protected persons who make $20,000 for a single person and families with a combined income of less than $30,00 per year.
Appointments are required.
Free Eye Clinic for Seniors
Spring & Fall
In partnership with the Opthamology Department of Mount Sinai Hospital, the Clinic offers free eye screening for seniors (age 65 and over). Doctors screen seniors for eye diseases such as glaucoma and provide referrals for treatment. They do NOT offer prescription for purchasing glasses.
Interpreters are available for Cantonese, Mandarin, Burmese and Japanese.

Free Settlement Service in Sanderson Toronto Public Library
Every Friday 2:00 - 4:30 pm
Settlement workers are stationed at Sanderson Public Library to provide FREE settlement services such and information and referral, translation and etc. No appointment necessary.
