Gone Fishin’

Saturday, June 9th – Saturday, June 16th, 2012

Every year for one week the Scadding Court pool is transformed into Toronto’s only trout pond! For this one week, people of all ages and abilities get a chance to fish for rainbow trout. This is an excellent chance to not only learn how to fish, but also learn about ecology, the environment, nutrition and where food comes from.

Hours:
3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Weekdays
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday

School Groups:
10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Weekdays only

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Cost:
Entry Fee: $4.00 per person with a limit of one (1) fish
Each fish over the limit is $3.50

A .75 cents fee will be charged for each fish cleaned.

Organizers have the right to limit the number of fish per person.
To ensure maximum participation from the community, fishing time may be limited to 40 minutes.

This unique event addresses issues of health and wellness, food access and security and presents an innovative alternative use for public swimming pools as community resources. Whether you are coming with your class, family, or just walk in, this is an event you do not want to miss!

This year the grand opening of the fish pond coincides with our Spring Festival to launch a whole summer of events at the Marketplace!

Registration for school groups starts in April.
